Our Role in the ASIACOM Group
The Hong Kong Desk focuses on the practical side of international trade, especially in resources, energy-related products, and industrial materials. We stand at the interface with suppliers, buyers, and service providers across Asia and beyond, coordinating contracts, logistics, and day-to-day documentation.
While the structural design of contracts, AI systems, and governance frameworks is handled by the Japan Desk (Tokyo HQ), the Hong Kong Desk is responsible for executing transactions in line with those standards and ensuring that operations comply with Hong Kong regulations and international trade rules.
How We Work with Tokyo HQ (Japan Desk)
Hong Kong and Tokyo HQ operate as a single team with clearly separated functions:
- Tokyo HQ (Japan Desk): AI governance, contract templates, group compliance, and documentation standards.
- Hong Kong Desk: Front-line execution, local documentation, operational risk control, and communication with banks, customs, and logistics partners.
In case of complex or cross-border transactions, the Hong Kong Desk works closely with Tokyo HQ to make sure that AI-generated documents and workflows meet the expectations of banks, regulators, and counterparties.
Scope of Activities in Hong Kong
The Hong Kong entity is primarily responsible for:
- Execution of purchase and sales contracts for resources, energy, and industrial materials
- Coordination with logistics, inspection agencies, and other third-party service providers
- Communication with local banks, customs, and relevant authorities
- Supporting multi-jurisdiction projects together with the Japan Desk and other desks
Governance & Compliance
As a member of the ASIACOM Group, the Hong Kong Desk follows both group-wide compliance policies defined by Tokyo HQ and local legal requirements under Hong Kong law.
Group-level AI usage guidelines, documentation policies, and risk management frameworks are maintained centrally by the Japan Desk (Tokyo HQ). Hong Kong applies those frameworks to its daily operations and supplements them with local procedures where required by Hong Kong regulations.
